This realization embarked the journey of MAEER’s – in 1983 with the establishment of Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT). On 24th June 1983, news announcements of the 9th Engineering College in Maharashtra offered ray of hope to many engineering aspirants. The News headlines flashed, “First Private Engineering College in the city of Pune after 125 long years under the name Maharashtra Institute of Technology-MIT, Pune.” -which still remains the flagship institute of the group. MIT Pune is now MIT-World Peace University. MIT-WPU is among the best private universities in India offering courses in Engineering, Management, Governance, Law, Economics, Liberal Arts, Science, and Journalism. ABOUT BA-PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM

Program prepares students for careers in the field of professional photography through a philosophy of “learning by doing.” Provided by professional photographers/ instructors a unique and innovative technical education that develops graduates creative style and unique visual problem-solving skills.

The three-year program is an intensive, hands-on program designed to train aspiring professional photographers in the art, craft, and business of contemporary image making. Encompassing state of the art digital technology, the moving image as a natural extension and 21st-century convergence of photographic and cinematic technologies and aesthetics.

Q. Is there any specialization in BA-Photography?

B.A. Photography is a three years’ full time undergraduate programme of Trimester Pattern with Credit System and specialization in one of the following subjects-

• Fashion & Portrait Photography
• Advertising & Commercial Photography
• Nature & Wildlife Photography
• Photojournalism & Documentary Photography
• Image Post Processing & Designing
• Fine Art Photography

Q. What are Academic Highlights of course?

• Across nine trimesters, students are immersed in all aspects of Photography study, representing a progression of knowledge that provides them with scholastically rigorous and creatively challenging courses.

• In addition to the academic growth of students, the programme aims at their holistic development through the value-based education system of MIT World Peace University.

Q. How will this Program be taught?

• Pattern: Trimester System, Nine trimesters.
• Credit System: Choice based credit system.

First Year: It is a foundation year where student learn the basics of photography, along with program related ability enhancement course.
Second Year: It is an intermediate year when student is introduced to different genres in photography.
Third Year: It is an advanced year where student choose specialization and work on it.

Q. What are the career opportunities after BA-Photography?

Q. Do I need professional camera for the course?

Yes. Any DSLR camera with a basic lens is mandatory.

Q. How much a professional camera costs?

It ranges from 25,000 to lacs depends on the requirement. But a minimum cost comes around 25,000 and that camera can be used as professional camera for the course and future.


ADMISSION PROCESS:

Q. What is the eligibility criteria for BA-Photography?

• For Maharashtra state candidate H.S.C. or equivalent exam must have obtained at least 50% mark in aggregate. (At least 45% in case of backward categories).
• Medium of instruction for the course and examination is English thus, student must possess enough knowledge of the language.

Q. What is the selection process for BA- Photography?

Selection process for this course is done through Personal interview at the campus.

Q. Is there any entrance exam for admission in BA-Photography?

There is no entrance exam, only Personal interview is conducted by MIT WPU.

Q. How to apply?

Students have to do their registration through the MIT-WPU website: www.mitwpu.edu.in.

Q. What is the application fees?

Application fees for the course is Rs. 1000/-.


DURATION OF PROGRAM, SCHOLARSHIP, INTAKE AND FEE:

Q. What is the intake of course?

Intake for BA Photography course is 30.

Q. What is the Fee structure of program?

Fees Structure is Rs 2, 60,000/- Per Annum (Total Fee: Rs. 7,80,000/-)

Q. Application fees will be refundable or not?

Application fees are non-refundable.

Q. What is the course Structure?

It’s a Trimester pattern.


PLACEMENTS & INTERNSHIP:

Q. What is the placement of BA-Photography?

It is a field of art hence we cannot guarantee any placements. We ensure that are students gain utmost knowledge to make them able photographers. Getting assignments or job completely depends on a student’s portfolio, knowledge, presentation and approach.

Q. What about internship of BA-Photography?

A one-month internship is compulsory for every student during the course period. Student has to find the internship on their own. We help and support for this process.

Q. How much attendance is required?

Minimum attendance for clearing any particular term is 90% for theory sessions and 100% for practical sessions.

Q. How much amount will be refunded after cancellation?

Q. Do you provide accommodation for out station students?

No. We don’t have hostel facility. But the college is located in an area that has plenty options for PG, Private flats on rent, private hostels etc.

Q. What are the other expenses that can occur during the course and how much?

At the end of the year each student has to submit a printed portfolio comprising of photos from his/her specialization work. The cost of this photo book is around Rs. 2200/-.

Every year a study tour is organized for 10-15 days, which costs Rs. 20,000 to 25,000, depending on the location and number of days. The tour is optional though.

For specialization, we provide studio and equipment but students must bare all expenses other than that (eg: Makeup artist charges, accessories, backgrounds and properties for set designing etc.)

Any fees related to examinations are not included in the tuition fees. Average fees for each trimester is Rs. 1400/- for regular examination. Extra fees will be charged for backlog examinations.

Q. What type of certificate we get after the completion of the course?

After the completion of the course and passing through all examinations and submissions you get Bachelor of Art in Photography from MIT World Peace University.

“Diploma in Photography” is a one-year part-time course that comprises of everything from Basic to Advance photographic studies.

Yes. Diploma in Photography is a part time course.
